Maths Workshops for parents – KS1
This year, one of our school priorities is to develop and extend the children’s mathematical thinking in relation to calculation.
On Thursday 23rd February Tim Foster, Quality Assessment Adviser for Maths for Gloucestershire Local Authority ran a workshop to help parents/carers to support their child with maths calculation strategies for the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1.
The session was very well supported and those parents/carers found the evening informative and enjoyable, with lots of fun, practical activities for them to use at home with their child.
The Powerpoint presentations that Tim used can be downloaded from the links below.
Tim then visited a second time, on Tuesday 13th March, to provide parents/carers of KS2 children with calculation methods and ideas. A pdf of this presentation is available to download from the link below.
